Different Compiz Cube Wallpapers

If like me you love Compiz Fuzion desktop effects in Ubuntu, but have been having trouble getting a different wallpaper on each face of your 'Cube' - then you'll be pleased to know I've found the setting! There are lots of posts on the Ubuntu forums that suggest you have to recompile Nautilus (the file manager). You dont... simply run the following command from a shell:

gconf-editor

then navigate to:

apps>nautilus>preferences

and untick "show_desktop". Done! The wallpapers you assigned in compiz manager will now be drawn on the appropriate cube face.

One word of warning - you will no longer have icons on your desktop. Does anybody know of a way to get icons also?

Seductive Interactions

Some nice examples of why interactive sites work so well.

The Stig in Chertsey

I saw The Stig from BBC Top Gear in the Sainsburys car park yesterday. Check out the pics here: http://picasaweb.google.com/tony.dillon/TheStigInChertsey
